Portland Tuv Ha'Aretz is now on Facebook!

Welcome to Portland Tuv Ha'Aretz!

An affiliate of the Hazon CSA network

Tuv Ha’Aretz means both “good for the land” and “the best of the land."

Portland joined the Tuv Ha'Aretz network in 2009. Created by Hazon, this network is the largest faith-based CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) program in the world. Come join us in this exciting project. We’re looking for people who want to:

  • Support local farms, local economies, a healthy environment, and a strong community.
  • Connect in new ways to Jewish values and traditions.
  • Receive our bi-monthly newsletter, Tuv Ha'Shavua, with recipes from the farm, short articles about the connections between Judaism, food, agriculture and more.
  • Go on yearly farm trips and take part in inspiring educational programming.
  • Join Jews around the world (US, Canada and Israel) in this new Jewish food movement.

One aspect of Portland Tuv Ha'Aretz is our partnership with Sauvie Island Organics. Through its CSA, Sauvie Island Organics has provided delicious, seasonal, local foods to Portland area residents for over a decade.

We encourage Tuv Ha’Aretz members who are interested in a CSA membership to join Sauvie Island Organics’ CSA. Please note: Membership in Portland Tuv Ha’Aretz is separate from membership in the CSA. For more information, go to
Portland Tuv Ha’Aretz and Sauvie Island Organics.

B’tayavon!
